Functions of Board of Management

 

  • The BoM is the appellate authority and Rector is the Chairperson of the BoM.

  • He as the appellate authority deals with the lay and Jesuit personnel and the governance of the entire institution. He is the Vice Chairman of the Governing Body of all units.

  • The BoM meets generally once in a month and considers the suggestions and recommendations of the secretary and other members of BoM and approves them. It may decide to meet frequently to deal with day-to-day issues of the institution.

  • Major policy decisions are taken to the attention of the Provincial who is the President of the local registered Society.

  • When only some members of the Jesuit community are directly involved in an institution, as far as possible the whole community/ General Body of the Society is informed about the major events and changes in the apostolic work, thus enabling the entire community to participate in the apostolic work.
